Showcasing some of Rotorua’s most stunning gardens, the Rotorua Festival of Gardens is a Summer Events in Rotorua to be enjoyed with family and friends. Enjoy a relaxing weekend with over 40 gardens on display, and children under 14 are free. There are rural gardens through to tiny town plots, which are sure to give you some great ideas for your garden at home.Part of your ticket price will also be donated to helping the Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter and St. John’s.
Saturday 18 November 2017 9:00am – 10:00pm
Taking place at the Lakefront Village Green, Hopewalk Rotorua is an opportunity to walk and raise Depression and Suicide Awareness. Admission is free, so why not come along and get some sunshine and exercise while supporting a great cause.There will also be a concert performed by Ngati Pikiao youth after the walk. Be sure to wear yellow which is the international colour of hope.
Saturday 25 November 2017 7:00pm – 11:00pm
The Gee Bee’s (Bee Gee’s tribute band) have been performing at a variety of events for over a decade. The three lads have performed at charity functions to raise funds for organisations such as Starship Hospital, Radio Lollipop, and much more. Come along for a great night and you will sure to be dancing along to those magical Bee Gee rhythms.

Inspired by one of the world’s most unusual festivals—Korea’s Boryeong Mud Festival—Mudtopia is set to become a must do’ event.This will be New Zealand’s first Mudtopia Festival, held 1-3 December, where you are sure to have an unforgettable experience…all in 100% Kiwi mud!Get down and dirty in the Mud Arena, Mud Games zone and Mud Run, or unwind with wellness and spa experiences. There is also a concert on Saturday night.

Enjoy the sound of ukulele hosted by Rotorua Museum in the Te Runanga Tearooms. Whether you are a player or not, UkeBox is for all who enjoy ukulele and music. Rotorua’s own ukulele group, the Thermaleles, will lead a community sing/play along and an open mic session for anyone who would like to perform. There will be learning opportunities and the Thermaleles will perform 2 or 3 of their own original songs.Participation and watching are free of charge, although UkeBox will be asking for a gold coin donation.
20 and 21 January 2018
The annual Blue Lake Regatta is hosted by Rotorua and Whakatane Rowing Clubs each year with crews accumulating points towards the Dewar Challenge Shield. This regatta provides a fun filled weekend of racing for all levels of ability and ages. It is an excellent regatta for novices and masters giving them racing experience in a relaxed atmosphere.
27 and 28 January 2018 (Auckland Anniversary Weekend)
Five events are held over two days, The Main events are: 1) an Aquathon with a 5.5k run followed by an 800m Open Water Swim, 2) a 2k swim across the lake, and 3) a Sprint Triathlon. Out of this a King & Queen is crowned. Kids can join in with their own Triathlon and adults can enjoy a social 750m swim and Forest Fun Run/Walk.
